Mercedes-Benz USA broke ground Thursday on its new,
70,000-square-foot vehicle preparation center on Colonel's Island at the
port of Brunswick. Operations are expected to begin next summer and will
replace an existing facility in Jacksonville.

Meiko USA moves to La Vergne, interested in former Whirlpool workers

Displaced Whirlpool workers have the skills a new company needs to
build its workforce. Meiko USA, a manufacturer of commercial dishwashing
systems used by cruise lines, colleges and hospitals, moved to a
50,000-square-foot facility on Heil Quaker Boulevard in La Vergne about a
month ago, said President Martin Schenk.
